Study the flora of a neutral territory

Dark paws made their way through the twilight lit trees, once again returning to this place. Something about the jungle amazed Arachnae, but she wasn't suprised that at every turn she found something new. Plants flourished in the damp soil, and it was endlessly useful. The blossom couldn't help but be drawn to the flora.

She passed over streams twice, and had to cross a shall creek by wading once. The water was plentiful, so many flowing sources weaving their ways though the trees, and each one offered a refreshing cool drink to quench her thirst and stave off the humid heat from the forest around her. As she sipped from the creek she had crossed, something caught her eye- a familiar mushroom that once she had planted with her friend. Deathcaps grew at the base of a tree, and she didn't dare sniff at them, but she did eye the spotted caps on the fungus. How pretty- but not useful at the moment.

The mamba around her neck recoiled from whatever scent it left in the air, a pungent sickly sweet smell- the lioness herself didn't like it, but the pior snake had to taste it as well. She stepped back and sat on her haunches, taking note of a few non poisonous fungi species cohabitating the trees base with the deathcaps.

The Cove bored her, truthfully. All this having to behave again galled, but with Hecuba having children within its walls she couldn't expect that the other woman would leave anytime soon. So she was left to find her own amusement, away from the pride so she wouldn't attract any undue attention to herself.

She'd made her way into the jungle, making note of several poisonous plants along the way. She was eager to begin working on her garden again, now that she had a more permanent place to stay (hopefully), not to mention her experiments.

And, naturally, as she moved through the jungle she rubbed up against various scented plants, smearing their odor over that of the cove. If she decided to (or wound up in) get into trouble out here, it was imperative that it not be linked back to Caladan. Jewel would be less than pleased by that, she was certain.

There was another not far away, she noticed finally, but when she caught sight of who the woman was she grimaced internally, though her outward expression didn't betray her. She'd met the other once before, at the fight between Drakon and that lunatic, and Arcania hadn't exactly been impressed by the pink woman's demeanor there. Well, whatever, she thought as she noticed some Gnetum nearby. If the other wanted to chat then so be it, but she certainly wouldn't be initiating.

Arachnae turned her head to see a red woman approaching- a familiar one.... The one with the thicc caboose she had seen at her brothers slaughter. The one who had stared at her in disdain as she grieved, watching him bleed out. The red woman was cold, but the rose didn't really blame her- it is what it is.

They seemed to eye eachother for a moment, before Arcania went towards a plant. Red and blue eyes strained to see what she was collecting, pleasantly surprised to see gnetum. The fertile lands never failed to provide. So many plants grew around here, and so knowing the other was already aware of her presence, she walked around, gathering some of the plant on the opposite side.

Arcania sighed internally as the other woman made her way over, though it seemed only to be for collecting plants as well. Ah, so she was also a... medic? That wasn't why Arcania was doing this, though she often claimed it was to hide the fact that she was only interested in the poisonous sorts.

Only then did she catch sight of something around the other woman's neck, and true delight crossed her features. "Is that a snake?" she asked, her voice a delighted, low rumble. Well well well, if she'd known this was the truth of the woman perhaps she wouldn't have been so quick to judge. "Do you collect poison from him?" Oh, she hoped so. What was the point otherwise?

Arachnae's mismatched gaze cut up to meet the crimson woman's, a small smile spreading across her maw. "Yes, I do. His name is Rawkshi, his venom allows me to.... Complete my work." She stated, not breaking eye contact. If she was interested in Rawkshi's venom, than she surely would understand the work she did. The rose woman wasn't proud to kill people, but she never did it without reason.

The mamba flicked his tongue in Arcania's direction, taking in the scent of the new figure, but otherwise stared as if his single braincell bounced around in his head. He was a little derpy. "Im Arachnae, I think you know my brother Drakon." She said, setting down the plant. She used it once to ease the pain of a dying victim, that she had merely killed in turn for getting information from another who needed them dead. She had to kill, but she didn't have to make them suffer. Not that bad, anyways.

"That must make things far simpler," Arcania commented. Hmm, she should look into getting one of those for herself come to think of it. But snake taming wasn't something she had any experience with. Maybe if she collected one as a baby? Braving a mother snake was dangerous at best, but so too was claiming one for a pet. "And how did you come to tame him?" she asked. If this woman had done it then surely she could too the same way.

"Arcania X'uekai," she replied, uncertain how known their surname was these days but giving it anyway. "I know Hecuba far better, but I did spend some time in the pride with them both, and now I reside in the Cove with them." She hadn't known this woman was Drakon's sister. They certainly looked nothing alike, unlike her own family which tended towards the same features. Hell, she was the splitting image of her father, save for her maroon coloration where his was gray.
