He shifted, eyes looming on the landscape before him. This whole area is and was new to him. He couldn't believe that this entire time there was a land full of cold escapes such as this one. If he continued further north through this area, what else could he come to find? His eyes stopping on a towering mountain dusted in white, what was up there? That was within the mountain range? WAs it like the mountains around the Hollow or the bluffs? or was this something else? But he dared not explore the snow-capped mountains today, no today was to explore the expanse before him and nothing else. As he walked he noticed that the grass was barely growing here, the plants held an orange 'dried' out expression. Vasilis pouts, this land seemed so far to only offer snow.

Winter
The coldest part of winter is now afoot, with heavy snowfall spreading across the north and crisp winds overtaking the majority of the lands. To make matters worse, the days seem painfully short, with the sun setting as quickly as it seems to rise from across the horizon. The nights remain dark, quiet, and frigid all the while.

The cold had wormed its way into her bones and taken up residence in the marrow. It was all she could do to keep from shivering, with what little meat was on her bones. Priory came upon the tundra and scowled. But, if she was to survive here with her Brother she would have to learn each and every landscape that she came across.
The cold wind felt like it was going to blow her over. Priory braced herself against the orange-hued grass which felt harsh and dead against her paws. Alabaster spread across the mountain tops and glimmered in the sunlight that crept through gray clouds lumbering across the sky.
There didn't seem to be anyone else around. Or rather, she had assumed so until she saw the form of another lion on the horizon. Priory let a hiss that he could not ear slip through her jaws. She preferred to be alone unless it was her brother who kept her company. Half-sight watched him carefully, creeping ever closer, weaseling across the landscape.

He made his way forward, kicking a rock up - the ground under it was stuck together, like dried worms that lost their life. Gross. He placed the rock back down and looked up at the snowy-like plateau, Vasilis moves to turn right, looking behind him at the survey that laid out. The stark differences in the vibrancy of colors to the south versus the drastic white, pale browns that this area offered. Head rose up, nostrils flaring, ears point forward atop his golden crown - he wasn't alone anymore.
Eyes drifted along the mountain ridge, nope no one was there, tail flickers behind his hips as he turns backward but moves to his left and then steps a few paces to the right. Hmm. The cold had barely affected him now, he could not find the one that he could smell. The wind ushered over his golden mane - he braces as his head lowers so that his chin touches his chest. Well, perhaps they were long gone by now. He continued to examine the location with a sigh.

On the horizon, the other lion loomed. She mounted a ridge, drew closer, brindled face lowered. Cautious, always. It was impossible to read his intentions from this distance. Priory crept forward, descending from the ridge, his features growing more and more pronounced the closer that she drew. As she moved, she kept her eyes wandering along the landscape, learning every tree and boulder that rose from snow-laden ground.
He was large, golden, donned blonde mane and wore it proud. Her tail twitched behind her. Surely, it wouldn't hurt to ask him if he knew much about the surrounding territories?
Surely it wouldn't.
It took a lot to convince herself of such, especially without her Brother there to encourage her.
Half-sight watched him move, and she drew closer until he was fully pronounced against the skyline, tail twitching. She lifted her head, which had been hanging low as she walked forward.
"Do you know much of this place?"
She did not bother with introductions, instead rushed right into her question, not caring if she startled him or not. She had information to glean from him, and there was no need for formalities.

He was exploring a bit more of the icey dry landscape. His feet picking things up - tossing another rock out the way - still the same dry death beneath the stones. There were no lush greens growing here at all, just brown - cream - dead weed like grassy blades and low shrubs. He was about to move forward to explore the low line ridge up ahead when suddenly his ears pick up 'do you know much of this place?' and the scent from earlier washed over him like a rock falling on his ass.
"Pardon?" he stated before turning around to look at the other, AH! Well then. Blinking his eyes a moment he cleared his throat "This place? No actually, I don't, This is one of the places I had yet to explore. This is the farthest north I've been." he stated before looking the other lionesses over. Hmm, where was she hiding before now? His eyes quickly scoop out behind her and then back to her face.

The cold had killed the grass beneath her paws. Rocks scattered under her paws as she drew closer, tail swishing behind her. Brindled face watched him for a response, and she stopped in her tracks when she was a few lengths of a lion away. He revealed that he did not know anything, and it was all Priory could do to hide the disappointment that spread across her face.
So there was nothing to learn from him -- he was useless to her. She sighed. "What is to the south?" Perhaps he wasn't completely useless yet, there were other things that he might be able to tell her. She was curt and to the point. She did not even care to ask for his name -- why would she? Priory never cared, really.

She was disappointed? Mad? Upset? Who knew. But the switch in emotions on her face was not unnoticed by the golden king. He shifted. Taking a breath but not closing the gap. The south? he started licking his nose to soothe the cold on his face, trying to think of the correct way to tell her "There are many things to the south. If you go that way.." he turns and holds his paw to his right beyond the visage of the mountains. "That way you can find the Native's of Amaryllis's home in the Woodland area, within the creek." he stated. Vasilis then points directly to the way he came from "That way is Celosia Fields - a place with many varieties of plants, flowers, weeds, and open land - slightly warmer than that of here." he blinks and turns to look back at her. "If you are standing at the mount of the Celosia Field you can see in the distance a tall mountain lush with green hints unlike the one behind you, that is what they call Freyr Peak." that was technically SOUTH of here, he would tell her with a nod.

He lifted his paw and pointed beyond the mountains, naming off places that she had never been and Priory drew it all in, ate it all up with less of a disappointed look on her face. So he would be good for something.
Amaryllis. So that was what this place must be called. She tucked that information away, saving it for a rainy day. Most of the names she knew she would forget, but someday she would try to remember them. "And you -- are you a wanderer?" she asked, wondering if he called any of those places home. She certainly did not. Priory was thoroughly a wanderer. She really did not feel like she belonged anywhere except by Rosary's side.

She is silent, duel eyes bouncing around and then to his face - he had to admit her face was a bit daunting to look at like this, but it wasn't something that would chase him away - no. She remains silent before he shifts "No." he tells her a little firmly with a shake of his golden crown. "I am the Sovereign of a Pride to the far South of here. I am but one of many kings and queens of the land here. My pride resides within the Lagoon off of the coastline to the Passage where many if not all wandering into Amaryllis from." he tells her. Eyes blinking again, nose inhales a sniffle due to the cold - his face remains emotionless as he talks to her though.

So he was a King.
Priory's eyes widened slightly at this discovery. A land of Kings and Queens. She did not know much of the prides that lingered 'round every corner, it seemed like, but she hoped that perhaps she could get him to tell her a bit about them. It would be very useful information to her -- not that she planned to join any of them. All she needed was her Brother.
He lived to the North. She tucked that information away. "How many other prides are there?" she asked, hoping that he would know.
