The travel from the passage to Wolfbron was a tedious one, but it was one Zoticus had become used to. He often would look to Rue, making sure she was managing well and would also fill her in on some of the lands they passed, giving her more information about Amaryllis as they went along.

Finally nearing to his borders, Zoticus entered and paused at the start of the trail upwards, turning his skull to look at the small woman, a grin on his lips. "We're here," He spoke the obvious, his tail twitching before his nose scented along the lands, searching to see if he could catch any scents of prey for them to partake in. "The trail upwards is steep and tiresome to those new, but will definitely condition your body more for the elements of the land." He added, knowing it had taken a toll on his own body the first few days he'd ever been in the Bluffs.

The trek had been a long and tedious one but Rue didn't complain, not once. In fact she walked in comfortable silence alongside the large male, her ears swiveling gently as she listened to him explaining the different landmarks they passed along their way. From what she could see and smell there were plenty of prides in Amaryllis, plenty left to be discovered outside of her new home. But all the while she was very eager to see her new humble abode and to get settled in. Thankfully her long journey to Amaryllis had prepared her and helped built up her stamina so she wasn't necessarily 'exhausted' by any means from the trip. "We're here. The trail upwards is steep and tiresome to those new, but will definitely condition your body more for the elements of the land." She had paused for a moment, mismatched gaze taking in her surroundings as well as getting herself accustomed to the pride's borders and scents. "Well it certainly is stunning." She remarked with a grin, taking it all in before she continued forwards to follow Zoticus up the incline. Even though there was a bit of a burn in her limbs from the climb she didn't slow her pace any, in fact she forged onward with a bit of a spring to her gait, eager to delve deeper into the territory. "So who all do you have tucked away up here?" She asked him then, wondering just what other pridemates she might eventually come across.

A proud look crossed his face as Rue seemed to approve of the lands; glad the Bluffs appeared to be somewhere she would feel content to settle in at. The incline wasn't any fun, but Zoticus' muscles had grown used to it- and he was pleased to see Rue didn't take much effort to follow along.

Not many, but those who are here have helped progress the Bluffs further than I could of expected." He replied, letting his mind wander off to Circe and Zola; the two that constantly stuck out to his attention, and the ones he trusted the most overall. "Circe recently has become Gentry, she's an ambitious and knowledgeable woman. A founding member as well, with her friend Osik joining with her. Zola is our Lead Fighter, she's as tough as claws- and well deserving of the title." He mentioned, his paws stepping up pass an incline and letting his gaze look towards the borders for a moment, studying them.

"There's also three cubs here that i've taken under my protection- Rhesk, Aleksandra, and Tripfire. I'm hoping to train them well so that they get far in life and the pride," It was still odd to him that Zoticus took role of a guardian over cubs- he could remember when he found them tedious and annoying. Now he only saw potential. His mind drifted to Theng, and he pondered if Rue may be of some help with them.

"There's also a cub here that I had to claim, they had caused trouble with the old pride by trespassing and days after my claim they did the same- I engaged in battle and, well, maimed the child. Perhaps you could consult them and see how their health is fairing?" His gaze locked onto her then, looking for any reaction of distaste or repulsion to his actions. He held no regrets, though, he did what he needed to teach a cub a lesson- he'd not let the same thing happen a third time, that was for sure. Now that Rue was here, he could make sure Theng was of use afterall.

Rue was curious of her new home and those that lived there. She was of course optimistic that Zoticus would be able to provide some information for her, but whatever he did not tell her she would surely find out on her own. He spoke of two women, Circe his Gentry and Zola his lead fighter. Interesting. Though Rue couldn't fault other women for being ambitious she hoped that Zoticus was ready for another ambitious female to be among his ranks. He then mentioned an Osik character as well as a few cubs, lastly speaking of one known as Theng. When he explained that he had maimed the cub Rue truly didn't have any feelings on the matter aside from the cub probably deserved it. How else would they learn right from wrong if there were not proper consequences? "I can certainly take a look at them.. what are the extent of the injuries? A brief rundown can give me an idea on what I'm walking into.." She informed him then, pausing for a moment before maneuvering past a few pesky boulders. "I'd like to obtain rank as your Lead Medic, you told me you didn't have one and I'm the right one for the job. Though primarily I deal with toxins .. I have vast knowledge in healing as well." She watched him with a curious glint to her mismatched gaze, wondering how he would feel about her asking for a rank so soon. But Rue didn't have any intentions of leaving the Bluffs, and if she was gonna stick around and heal others well .. she might as well have the title, right?

She seemed to absorb the information he threw her way, something Zoticus was beyond glad to see; the more she knew of his pride, his lands, and his members- the more she could mold in with them and help strengthen them all.

"Their hind leg, the right one I believe, was maimed off of them." He spoke with a slow exhale of breath. Perhaps he had been a bit... brutal with the cub, but he had gotten his point across. And he doubted the cub would test Zoticus again. "I patched it over with some dirt to stop the bleeding and have been dropping food off to them to keep their body functioning, but beyond that I haven't bothered them much; I figured i'd give them time before approaching them again." Because Zoticus knew if it was him, he'd want to tear the throat off of the person who took his limb.

Ears perked at her words, ambitious they were, speaking boldly on how she wished to hold the rank of Lead Medic. He grew silent as he thought this over, head tilting as he observed her. She was right, they were short a medic and she was the only one upon them, but could he trust her words on knowing how to heal?

"I trust your words, Rue, and i'm pleased to see your ambition... but allow me to test you first, since i've yet to witness your skill." That was all he wanted, to be able to see she had the capability of backing up her words. He already knew what test he would do and it would be rather simple- but he waited for her response, to see if she was up for it or not.

She listened curiously as Zoticus began to explain the extent of the wound. It had been a long while since she had dealt with a complete loss of a limb but it would certainly knock the dust off of her skills. The important thing was making sure that the wound was clean to prevent a source of infection. If there were any stray pieces of skin they would need to be removed which may involve more pain for the youth. Ultimately she would not be able to know what was required until she could see the wound in front of her. "I trust your words, Rue, and i'm pleased to see your ambition... but allow me to test you first, since i've yet to witness your skill." "Very well. I'd be willing to show you whatever you'd like to prove my capabilities. As far as the cub's wound goes, I'll need to see it up close in order to know what is needed. If it was a clean maim there is less risk of infection .. however if it was messy, you can imagine what I'll need to clean up." She mused then. To some the gore might have been nauseating but this was something that Rue was quite accustomed to, in fact her past was filled with punishment and torture inflicted upon others, if anyone knew how to maim and fix said maims, it was Rue.

At her agreement to allow Zoticus to test her skills, the King let a low smirk tug to the edges of his maw. He nodded, taking a few steps back while still listening to her on the topic of the cub. "I'll do whatever I need to ensure you have the proper supplies to aid them." He spoke, gaze turning to peer at his surroundings, before looking back to her. "Stay here." He instructed, before turning away and swiftly jogging off and around a corner.

Zoticus wanted to see her tend to a wound - but he wasn't about to hurt himself or her to make that happen. Instead, he found a hare that was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Zoticus spent a few good moments capturing it, his hold on the hare's neck firm, but he used his claws to create gashes down the side, watching the blood flow from the prey. Satisfied with the wounds, he carried it back to where Rue was.

Dropping the hare from his mouth and using his paw to keep the prey pinned to the ground by the neck, ensuring it couldn't escape, he looked to Rue with observant eyes. "Show me how you would heal these gashes on this hare - as if they were on my own skin." His head tilted, pondering how she felt about this.

She had expected something interesting when Zoticus mentioned testing her knowledge and so the small ebony woman sat and waited even as he left her for a few moments. Curiosity ran rampant in her mind as she did wait, wondering just what silly thing he was coming up with in order for her to prove her skillset as a medic. It was when he brought the injured hare back that she arched a brow out of surprise, he definitely had thought outside the box that much was certain. 'Show me how you would heal these gashes on this hare - as if they were on my own skin.' She nodded and without another word rose from where she sat. The small woman moved a few paces away from Zoticus, her mismatched gaze scanning the terrain for the things she would need on the spot. Thankfully she was able to grab a bit of cape aloe and some cobwebs. Carefully she carried the herbs back to her 'patient' before setting them on the ground. She moved with swiftness and ease; lifting a forepaw to her mouth she moistened her paw before then moving to ground the aloe leaves beneath her. Once they were in a 'mush' like substance she quickly approached the hare that Zoticus had pinned. Gently she smeared the concoction across the gashes on the hare's nape, packing the wound carefully before retracting her paw. The woman moved to grab the cobwebs then and swiftly began wrapping them as best she could around the hare, after all it was quite frightened and squirming despite the hold Zoticus had on it. After her work was complete she raised her gaze to Zoticus, "Cape aloe, will stop the bleeding and prevent infection. I've packed the wounds so they should scab quite nicely. The cobwebs are to help keep everything in place when it decides to hop away from us and flee for it's life." She mused to him then, waiting for his response and hoping that what she had done would suffice.

He didn't know how Rue might feel about Zoticus purposely harming the hare to have her heal - but she didn't seem to object to it when he had shown his test. The King made sure to keep a paw on the prey, ensuring it couldn't escape, and kept his gaze steady on the woman.

She moved with a simplicity, a smoothness that showed him alone she had confidence in what she was doing. He observed her, curious, his face showing the expression as he watched and listened. She wrapped it up after applying some sort of pastes, the squirming hare under his paw looking rather patched up; he had no doubt it'd survive.

He lifted his paw and the creature darted off in an instant, and Zoticus chuckled lowly to himself at the sight, before turning to focus on Rue once again. "I'll be laughing if i see that particular hare end up in our storages one day." He mused to himself, before shaking his head and growing serious. "You impress me, Rue." He praised, letting her know he had watched her well. "The title is yours." She earned it, proved her skills, and no doubt would be a strong asset to the pride. Perhaps the strongest yet.

It wasn't a traditional way of showing her skillset to her new High Sovereign but Rue appreciated that the man could think outside of the box. She watched with a smirk on her face as the rabbit quickly hopped away, almost as if it had never been injured in the first place. Turning her mismatched gaze to Zoticus then she couldn't help but offer that same smirk to him, hopefully it was enough to provide him with whatever closure he needed to determine whether her skills were capable or not. She was just glad that her concoction of cape aloe and cobwebs had been enough to put the hare 'back together' so to speak. 'I'll be laughing if i see that particular hare end up in our storages one day. You impress me, Rue. The title is yours.' Rue dipped her head politely then before responding, "I appreciate you humoring me. I'll do my best around here, at least when it comes to keeping everyone patched up." She mused to him before finally pulling to a halt. "I suppose I'll find myself a den. I plan on making a garden of herbs shortly .. I'll have poisons as well but they won't be in the public eye .. I'll keep it that way to keep the young ones from getting into trouble." She informed him before turning to head further into the territory, "Until next time then High Sovereign." She purred with a flick of her tail.
