It wasn't something everyone believed, but Aelynthi swore she could feel some of the strongest presences of Maua when in the caverns. She did not wander her often due to the circumstances within the cave, but it was something she liked to do occasionally in place of visiting the grotto. It seemed far more chilly this visit, but whether it actually was or it just seemed so due to summer weather was beyond the shaman. It also helped to clear her mind out here, something the elf needed to do. Restless thoughts of newcomers and death plagued her consciousness and it was time to wipe the slate clean.

Claws gripped the ice with an iron grasp, each step made just as carefully as the next while she ventured deeper into the caverns. It took a short while, but she finally reached her destination: the heart of the caves. At once she felt a sense of peace and calm settle over her, hazy green gaze scanning the ceiling for any movement before proceeding towards the center.

he isn't quite sure what possessed him to come out this far.

grass and dirt change underfoot until it gives way fully to snow and ice. it crunches beneath his paws and he shivers lightly as the temperature drops despite the summer heat. there's no such thing as summer up here, it seemed - for as far as the eye can see, it's an endless white. for some reason the idea worries him - he has visions of getting lost in this area and freezing to death. a fitting end, maybe. still elijah does not give in to that thought - at least not today - and he continues, delicate paws trampling the snow as he goes. the yawning maw of a cavern catches his attention and before he can think anything of it, he's slipping inside.

unlike the hollows, the floor here is more ice than stone - a fact that he only realizes once he starts slipping and sliding. panic wells in his chest before he manages to right himself and when he continues forward, it's with his claws carefully unsheathed - using them as additional traction. there are footsteps here, carved into the ice, but elijah isn't sure if it's new or old - and all he can smell is the stinging-sharp of cold. still, he follows the natural curve of the caverns - ears twitching at the eerie sound of high-pitched whistling noise, the glacier singing softly.

eventually the icy corridor opens up into something more bearable, a large room that seems larger than what was possible. the walls here, too, are coated over and frozen solid and up above dangle icicles. they are a gorgeous sight and it's no wonder that @Aelynthi, too, has come to see them. it seems that the pawprints he'd been following had been fresh after all, and her pelt is stark against the icy-blue of the chasm. chuffing quietly towards the black-pelted lioness - elijah edges closer, curious as to what kind of lioness would willingly come here. oh - this place is gorgeous, he breathes out, voice little more than an exhale - quiet against the cavern's gentle song. awed certainly, and maybe even a little humbled, at nature's beauty.
