This wasn't the sort of place she frequented, and if she was being honest Faelyn didn't really want to be here at all. But, she was still on the lookout for herbs for their expectant mother to help her with her upcoming birth, and as it turned out there were some here.

Actually, there were several useful herbs around here she'd realized, not just the clove that she was gathering. There was baby bush too, which seemed convenient given its uses for dressing wounds and how it was growing in a place where wounds were all too common. It did concern her that there were poisons so close as well, but perhaps that was to be expected. Where there were good plants, there were also generally bad plants. She just hoped she never had to find them used against anyone from the Hollow.

She's been prowling around The Pit for some time now, pent-up anger and resentment coursing through her body in a roiling wave. Watching other lions trade ferocious blows has done nothing to curb her unquenchable craving for blood. Merely spectating from the peripheries no longer suffices-- it's her turn to kick some ass next. Of course, the one she really wants to dig her claws into is her brother, but he no longer seems to heed her claws and teeth. She's losing control of him... losing control of herself. It's time for her to take it back the only way she knows how. Arriving at the edge of the crater, she spots a small lioness, standing out in white relief from the brown rock wall. If she squints her eyes hard enough, she may even be able to pretend it's her brother. Or, considering her size and obsession with grass, perhaps Lorien's Lead Medic will serve better-- both are annoying to different degrees, both need a kick in the ass. She drags her claws across the coarse soil ground, like a bull ready to charge. "Bad place to be picking flowers, short stack."

She paid attention to what was going on around her, but she wasn't anticipating any trouble. Clearly she should have been. Especially as trouble seemed to have found her instead, judging by what the woman said to her. She looked over and saw the woman looking at her, threat obvious in her stance, and immediately dropped the clove in her mouth.

"Oh no, I'm not looking for a fight," she said hastily, taking a few steps back. Mostly because she didn't know how to, despite having seen plenty of fights herself. She had a bad feeling she wasn't going to be able to get out of this one, though, and therefore the time had finally come for her to attempt to defend herself. She would just have to hope it wouldn't go too poorly for her.

She keeps her eyes on the other, not perturbed by her reaction in the slightest. "You set foot here, you fight. That's how it works." She stands, rolling her shoulders. She almost feels bad for the white lioness, but after watching everybody else get their fill of blood, it's finally her turn. There's no turning back now. As the other steps backwards, Uma inexorably advances, her exasperation apparent.

"Just get ready." She growls out lowly, releasing her fury in one explosive sprint forwards. Owing to her bulk, she's never relied much on strategizing. Instead, she comes towards her head-on, teeth bared. Lunging her great head forward, she seeks to snap her powerful jaws around the other female's neck. If she succeeds in clamping on, she'll try to wrestle her to the ground like the tiny little gazelle she is, attempting to subdue her.

It seemed as though there was nothing she could do as the woman advanced on her. Were she a bit more used to such things her brain might have kicked in fast enough for her to be able to run, but as it was she only caught up as Uma's jaws closed around her neck and she was pushed to the ground.

Faelyn yowled, more out of fear than pain, and kicked out with her hind leg closest to the woman, attempting to strike whatever part of her she could reach. She certainly wasn't in a good position at this point, but there was nothing to be done about it but try to get herself out of it.

She arrived at the pit later in the day then she had been coming lately- and this time there seemed to be a fight already ongoing. With at least one lioness she recognized- @Uma . Ghyslaine slowly traveled down into the pit, her eyes on the fight. As she arrived late, she knew nothing more than the two of them sparring- but she will wait and see if her pride mate comes out on top. So Ghyslaine would take a seat, watching the fight- the one female smelled strongly of the hollow- and she wondered who she was in relevance to Roan- the only hollow lion she had ever met. However, it looks like she will have to wait till the end- and perhaps she could ask.

Eagerly she closes in on the white lioness, but having put on too much speed, nearly overbalances herself snagging the other's scruff between her jaws. She manages to keep her equilibrium, anchoring herself in place by attempting to drape the full weight of her front legs over her opponent.

Her ears fold backwards as she feels the sharp sting of claws digging into her abdomen and hind legs. She considers trying to put a stop to the kicks by shaking her violently by the scruff of her neck, but somehow, it feels off. The white lioness does nothing for her rage. It seems she just wants to get away, so reluctantly, she releases her grip, gaining her paws. "Give me a fight." Teeth bare in a frustrated snarl as she stands over the lioness, lashing out her paw. "A real fight."

She felt herself get squished as the woman put her weight on her, for the first time cursing her small frame. It certainly wasn't doing her any good in this situation, and she couldn't think of any way to make it do so. Not unless the other woman let her up, and maybe she could try to use her speed to do something.

The other woman seemed irritated by her struggles, which might have struck Faelyn as funny were the situation different. She'd started this whole thing, and Faelyn had warned her that she wasn't here to fight, so whose fault was it really?

"I don't know how!" she replied, her hind legs now drumming in the air as her opponent released her. Well, she knew better than to present her stomach to an opponent, so she scrambled to get her legs under her and got a swipe to her shoulder for her trouble. Faelyn rose quickly, trying to bring her head up against the underside of the woman's chin, or just to collide heads.

Ghyslaine

She watches the fight, her confusion becoming evident at the fact that the Hollow lioness... seemed to be really really untrained. She isn't so far that she doesn't hear their words, and that confusion fades into a growl of worry.

She watches, her claws digging into the earth, as she frets over the possible implications of this... Gods, if Uma needed a fight that bad- Ghyslaine would fight her. They didn't need trouble with the hollow- and it really seemed that this lioness didn't want to be in this battle. So Ghyslaine would wait, and hope that perhaps somehow the other would step back, but that didn't seem to be in her nature.

Her unwilling opponent gains her paws, and Uma braces herself-- not for the pain, but for putting on a burst of speed to catch the other in case she tries to run. She's giving her a chance to defend herself, and in Uma's mind, it's more than she would've been granted in a real fight. Not that she's really taking the white lioness into consideration at all, but Uma needs an outlet for her anger, and this lioness clearly needs to get used to defending herself. The way she sees it, it's a pretty good trade-off, as she's certain she won't be the last who tries to pick on the small lioness.

Her paw remains suspended, poising for another swat. She never gets the chance: a jarring impact to her chin sets her teeth rattling, nerve endings firing. Clearly having misjudged the other's speed, her large head snaps back, paw lashing blindly as her backend drops promptly groundward. She wants to get up, but finds that she's unable to do so without falling over, a swimming headache starting up as stars explode over her vision. Ouch. The danger of underestimating one's opponent...
