Tripfire was always a spitfire with a rebellious streak but lately he was a little sour that mother had decided to spend more time tending to the overgrown brat than him. So he decided he would be a big boy and let them be, and so for the time being he wasn't a Dieduonne. He was a Frei. The name he was born with and came to her with.

Still the youth needed someone to help him grow into a somewhat stable adult, why not find a new adult to take on that task? That's right Tripfire was looking for someone to adopt him. If only temporarily, still young at only nine months old he was still the good age of cute and forgivable for his transgressions.

Vibrant fiery fur shone in the sun while he approached the first pride he could smell, the bluffs, he stopped where the smell was strongest. He would be respectful at least. For now. Then he let out a dramatic cry of distress, which wasn't a total lie, he was starving. Lying down he dramatically let a paw drape over his eyes but was mindful to keep a slit open so he could see anyone approaching.

The cry that casted over the land was one that didn't pass over Zoticus' ears. It was different from the usual calls; and Zoticus found his limbs rising and moving, swiftly towards the direction of the border, eyes narrowed and muscles tensing as if preparing for the worst.

Nearing the borders, the scent of a rogue came- male, and as Zoticus neared his teal gaze landed on a cub. At least it knew borders. He thought to himself, glad that this cub had sense in comparison to the other cub he had dealt with crossing over his land. A paw was draped over his eyes, the boy laying on his side- and it was clear he had been starved for quite some time.

Nearing closer, Zoticus gazed around to see if anyone else was around- not scenting any rogues this boy could belong to. Was he in the same situation like Rhesk and Aleskandra? Left to fend for themselves?

Perhaps there was an opportunity here...

"Can you stand?" The question came forth from his jaws, Zoticus crossing over his land and coming to stand above the boy, gazing down at him with worry- an odd emotion to the King. He would hope the boy could move and talk, but if not he'd have to try and drag him into his lands... which wouldn't be so pleasant to the youth. After all, Zoticus wasn't going to just leave him helpless at his borders.

It took a lot for Tripfire to focus on this act, yes he was being over dramatic but that was part of the fun in it. It also was teaching him a great deal of patience. He couldnt just roll over and start walking about, he didn't know if someone was watching or appearing suddenly and would catch his act. That was until he heard and felt heavy foot falls coming to him. In the back of his mind he hoped this lion wouldn't try to eat him, though he wouldn't blame him if he attempted it! A guys gotta eat right!?

Could he move? He lifted his paw a bit to peer his yellow eyes up at the stranger who was thankfully blocking the bright sun with his huge form. ”probably?” he said in a quiet tone then let his paw move to drop beside him. He made a grand effort to stand on his four feet letting his legs shake a bit then looked up at the lion with a cheeky smile. Though he was starting to notice his vision was making him see two of the lion, and that was no act. ”you got a twin?” he asked squinting and shaking his head a bit.

The cub was responsive, his attention slowly drawing to Zoticus and the King watched him closely, taking a step back to give him more room all while his gaze stayed glued to him. He watched the cub try to stand, legs shaking some in the process, a clear sign he was weak- at least for now. Ears would flick forward and Zoticus shook his head, letting out an airy breath. "Unfortunately, no, I don't." He was worried about the cub's health- but he didn't appear to be in a dire condition. Maybe some food and water would restore him? Zoticus wasn't a healer though... so he didn't know for sure.

"What's your name, boy?" He questioned then, gaze narrowing slightly as he inspected the cub more. "And how'd you end up... here?" He added before a tilt of his head came. "Or do you even know where here is?" He doubted it- but the cub at least knew enough to not cross the borders. That said enough to Zoticus to lend his aid as much as he could- and if the boy didn't have family or anyone looking for him, then Zoticus knew he'd be taking the cub into Wolfbron most definitely.

Tripfire was confident he wasn't at deaths door yet, but starving and becoming a little .. well delerious due to not eating much lately? Yeah that was him. No he didn't have a twin? Oh that wasn't a good sign. Boy? His ears flicked back then forward again he wasn't sure how he liked being addressed like that. ”..so many questions hold on” he grumbled sitting down. He was starting to get hangry.

”I'm Tripfire... and I walked?” he answered rather seriously, looking confused at the lion. How else would he have gotten here? Fly? That'd be neat, he let a smile sweep across his face as he imagined flying briefly. Unaware how weird that must look to the king. ”no, i just smelled lions” he admitted shrugging his shoulders softly snapping out of his daydream.

Maybe Zoticus had thrown a few too many questions at the cub at one time- but his curioisty and interest were high and he was wanting to get this situation figured out swiftly. He watched the cub sit, and Zoticus listened to the words that left from his lips.

Well, it didn't seem he had been ditched at his borders- the cub claimed to of walked here, smelling the lions, perhaps looking for salvation? It was the idea Zoticus would most likely lean towards believing the most. "I'm Zoticus, Tripfire. King to Wolfbron Bluffs, the lands you've come across." He introduced himself, pursing his lips slightly before he made his mind up.

"You'll be staying here, then. You're food deprived and probably dehydrated." He wanted to get the boy back on his feet, after all, he wouldn't be of any use so weak. "But once you're better, we'll talk about your responsibilities here. The expectations I will be holding for you." His words made it clear Zoticus wasn't lending out his aid for free. This cub had ended up at his lands, young and full of opportunity; he had full intention on using all of it to his advantage, as well.

Tripfire knew he was Ambrosine's that much was clear but she was distracted, wasn't she? And he wasn't sure what Manes was doing.... Tripfire listened to him speak about where he had ended up and then announce that he would be staying here. If he was given more attention perhaps he would have raised a fuss, but she was busy. So he accepted this situation rather well. Brow lifted while he moved to walk closer to Zoticus attempting to come beside his front paws, he looked up at him, ”alright dad, can I get some food though?” he asked calmly, yes he had just addressed Zoticus as a father because Tripfire kind of gave that title freely. Give the boy enough attention and nurturing and bam you were a parent!

He watched as the cub walked closer, coming to his front paws before looking up at him. A brow rose at the word- dad. Was Zoticus a dad? He had numerous cubs under his wing- Rhesk, Aleksandra, he had claimed Theng... and now Tripfire? The term dad sounded odd to him, he never envisioned himself as such a thing... but then again, he never saw himself as a King, either.

"We've got some hares in the cache," He rumbled back, head lowering to nudge the boy forward, deeper into his lands, and away from the neutral territories around. He began to lead the boy forward, guiding him in the direction of the cache, and through the steep and tedious terrain. "Have you any skills? Hobbies?"

No reaction this surprised Tripfire a bit, he half expected to be told to not call the king that. That he didn't know him enough to call him such a title. He felt a nudge to his rear and grunted in annoyance moving towards the territory heading deeper into the new home he had found. ”oh yum, those are hard to catch!” he said his tummy grumbling at the idea of eating those fast little buggers!

Trip suppressed a laugh when he was asked if he had skills or hobbies, oh yeah he had a weird set of skills alright. ”I'm really good at being a distraction.” he said with a shrug of his shoulders, keeping it quite simple. He was honestly the best pain in the ass around. ”I like to fight, I want to learn to fight...” he added seriously, he needed to learn to fight so he could protect ambrosine and kick Xerxes in the mouth when he was being a sulky bastard.
