[[timeline-wise, i'm gonna be vague since the thread in WB was technically set last IC october and we're now in IC march XD;;; so some vague span of time long enough for things to settle and for at least gauthier to find out what's happened? i'm happy to set it whenever it needs to be to make the most sense for him.
some notes:
1. lucifer's claws are poisoned, but this is mostly for flavor as he does not have the appropriate official perk just yet, you're welcome to have it be as effective (or not) as you like <3
2. This is open but he's only called loud enough for Firnen and Aniadar to be within earshot, so maybe let's just try to avoid the initial slew of "heard from across the island" posts unless someone else calls louder XD;; ]]
More than a year it sat there, a heavy shadow at the edges of his world. Much of that, he'd been bound by age and circumstance, but there seemed to be a shift more recently. He'd gone to the bluffs, he'd received his father's head, and he'd seen the sort of reception that woman's presentation had been met with. The Wolfbron lions seemed...well he wouldn't have called them enthusiastic. The one who died before to his own father's jaws had even attacked - and Lucifer had seen enough blood and death to take his leave then. But that one glimpse of the woman's indignation, and Wolfbron's near-apathy...it had been enough. Perhaps the ones who'd stolen his home weren't the threat he and his family had been led to believe. Perhaps it had been a perfect mixture of cruelty and luck that had worked in their favor for so long.
His first move was one he'd learned well by observation. Time taken to peruse his garden and his stores and select those that would combine well. A base of manichineel tree sap, for the internal bleeding effect, into which would be ground calbar bean for the seizures and breathing difficulty, with a bit of hemlock from the shore for the progressive paralysis. Would it work? He really had no idea. He hadn't tested this particular mixture or the ratios, or the intended application method, but what better time than now?
Once that was finished, he turned his attention to crafting the antidote - or what was meant to be the antidote. If not a cure, at least something to keep symptoms at bay long enough to find a real healer. Whether it would be used depended...well, entirely on how things went.
With that finished, he would dip each claw into the poison mixture, and take the antidote bundle carefully in his teeth. And then there were no more excuses, no more reason for procrastination. His mother and siblings were safe with Kireena and her band, and maybe Lucifer had always had a little too much of his father's boldness in him.
By the time he reached the vicinity of Firnen, the sun had risen and the breeze carried the promise of rain later. His parcel would be tucked within the hollow of a tree, and then he would spend a moment considering. Something seemed different, but he couldn't quite figure out exactly what it was. A slow, deep, breath to steady himself renewed his resolve, though. One defiant step was taken over the border, into his home, his family's home, the place he'd been born and had expected to spend the rest of his life, and then the call. Just loud enough to reach into the territory and the surrounding jungle, to call out whoever would step up to defend the Firnen throne, and to summon his family if they wished to attend.
